Discover the Halifax 2011 Canada Games

We cannot wait to have all the athletes and their friends come to the Halifax 2011 Canada Winter Games because we love to meet new people and cheer.  Here is some 2011 Games trivia that we have learned while preparing for the Games:

• The Games will be held from February 11th to 27th, 2011
• 3500 athletes, coaches and managers will be at the Games
• 13 teams will represent their provinces and territories
• 3000-5000 friends and families will cheer on the athletes as they compete to be the best in the Canada
• 210 000 meals will be served during the Games: more than 3500 pizzas, 20 000 muffins, and 14 000 lbs of bananas!!
• There will be 20 different sports played over 18 days at the 2011 Halifax Canada Winter Games.

What will you bring?

We are asking everyone, including you, what they will bring to the 2011 Canada Games to help cheer on our athletes. Here is what some people have told us:

I will bring my pride for NS – Sidney Crosby, Pittsburg Penguins

A big cup of hot chocolate, a NS flag, and a shiny new dime with a Bluenose on it – Peter McKay, Minister of National Defence
