Anni and Sammi at the WaveOur Home

One of the best things about growing up in Nova Scotia is that there is always something fun to do no matter what the season. In the warm dog days of summer, Anni and I love to play fetch with a Frisbee on the beach at Rainbow Haven and when we get too hot, we cool off by jumping in the water. Nothing is more refreshing than running into the Atlantic Ocean on a hot summer day.

Anni and Sammi at the ParkIn the fall, we love to chase each other through the piles of yellow and red leaves that have fallen in Point Pleasant Park. There are lots of trails to explore, squirrels to chase and a whole bunch of other dogs to play with.

Winter is by far, our favourite season. And when winter rolls around, we get our exercise by chasing hockey Anni and Sammi at the town clockpucks on the ice of the Frog Pond when it freezes over. Whenever we get heavy snow, there’s nothing more fun than riding a toboggan down Citadel Hill with the rest of the Canada Games family. The faster the better! We always wear our helmets!

Climbing the rocks at Peggy’s cove is always fun in the spring time. It’s also amazing to watch the waves crash on the shore—but always at a safe distance.

Anni and Sammi at the WaterfrontWhatever the season, we’re always up for a nice jog along the Halifax waterfront. It’s a great way to start the day. Often times we’ll see some neat ships coming in and out of the Harbour. Sometimes, when it’s foggy, we’ll stay at home and see who can chase their tail the fastest. Once we’ve tired ourselves out, we’ll relax by lying down on the rug by the fireplace. It’s a dog’s life.
