Guess you could call this a Triple Hitter.
As a 17 year old in 1969, I had only been to Halifax on 2 other occasions. I caught for a women’s fast pitch team from Elderbank coached by Archibald (Tim) MacDonald. The softball competition was structured much differently than it is today. We played 2 games on the Canada Games Diamond on the Halifax Commons. My team mates ranged in age from 17 to 40!
My second experience was as a manager with the 2001 Women’s Canada Games Softball Team in London, Ontario under Head Coach Tom Doucette. Also on that team was my daughter, Kim, who played first base for Nova Scotia.
In 2005 our Nova Scotia Women’s Team traveled to Regina where I coached with Terry Hayes.
In 2009 I will proudly wave the Nova Scotia flag as an enthusiastic fan of our great game of softball!
