The Halifax 2011 Canada Games Brand

What Does the Canada Games Represent?

The Canada Games makes a difference in people’s lives, by inspiring young athletes to participate in sport and serving as an essential contributor to the achievement of their ultimate goals. The Canada Games, the largest ongoing multi-sport event in Canada, is fiercely proud to be Canadian, providing an opportunity to celebrate achievement, share excellence and create special moments for all connected with the event.

About the Logo

The Canada Games are a celebration of athletics, community and the city in which they take place. The Halifax 2011 Canada Games has created a logo that includes a stylized explosion of winter colours that evokes the energy and activity of Halifax. A blend of winter blues are employed to create a progressive and youthful feel, while the Canada Games’ gold promotes the idea of achievement and maintains a level of sophistication.

Protecting the Brand

To maintain the value of the brand association for partners and sponsors, the brand requires protection. Without this, organizations could revise and manipulate the brand image or associate with the Canada Games brand without making a sponsorship contribution. This would severely limit the Host Societies capability of meeting their awareness and sponsorship targets.  Parties who have rights to the logos include:

*Authorized by the 2011 Host Society. Owner and approval authorization procedure to be followed for all requests. Additional media support materials can be found by clicking this link.

An Approval Authorization Procedure is also in place to monitor all potential uses of the proprietary graphics: 2011 Games trademarks, mascots and wordmarks.
