Canada Games Receives Deloitte Sponsorship

November 3, 2009

The Halifax 2011 Canada Games today, Nov. 3, welcomed Deloitte as an Official Sponsor.

Deloitte will be the presenting sponsor for the VIP Program. The 2011 Canada Games will host over 800 VIPs from across the country. VIPs will feature some of the most influential people in the country including the prime minister, local and national corporate representatives, community representatives and sport leaders.

Deloitte is the official supplier of professional services for the Games which includes audit, tax and consulting services.

Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter, HRM Deputy Mayor David Hendsbee, and 2011 board member and marketing & sponsorship division chair John Rogers attended today’s VIP reception at Deloitte’s Halifax office which was a preview of the first-class treatment that Games VIPs will enjoy come February 11, 2011.  The event included a grand entrance, an opportunity to meet an Olympic athlete, memorabilia on display courtesy of the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame, and a Wii gaming station - all set in a winter-themed atmosphere.

“We are very pleased that Deloitte is bringing its passion for performance to the Halifax 2011 Games,” said John Rogers. “The creativity and hospitality at this event showcases the level of care and service Deloitte is known for providing.   The Deloitte VIP Lounges will give our special guests and dignitaries even more to look forward to during Games time.”

“It takes an entire community to make the Games successful.  At Deloitte, we have a passion to excel whether it’s providing our professional services or hosting VIPs. We are excited about playing our part and working with the Games Host Society and our fellow sponsors to make the 2011 Games a huge success for Halifax and Nova Scotia,” said Shannon MacDonald, Deloitte’s managing partner Atlantic.

The 2011 Canada Games will raise $8 Million from sponsors. With the support from organizations like Deloitte, this target remains on track. The Host Society will post sponsors on its website, canadagames2011.ca, as they sign on in the months leading up to the Games.
