Q: Why did you want to get involved in the games?

A: As a young athlete competing in the Canada Games was my ultimate goal to achieve. Unfortunately I was an alternate and did not get to the games so to be able to "participate" at the organizing level is a dream come true for me.

Q: What will you bring to the games?

A: Besides my 25 years of sport and organizing experience, I am bringing my contagious enthusiasm and excitement!

Q: What do you do when you are not volunteering for the games?

A: I own a marketing and event planning consulting business (Dow Marketing Solutions), I referee volleyball and play volleyball and golf. My husband and I also enjoy kayaking, hiking and ATV riding.

Staff Profile

Chantal Gallant
Community Relations Coordinator

Who's who?
The Games wouldn't happen without our volunteers, and here to assist those awesome individuals are some equally awesome staff. Each edition will highlight a different Host Society staff member.

Chantal Gallant
Chantal joined the Games family in September of this year and although it's only been a few short weeks since her arrival, she's jumped into her role as Community Relations Coordinator with both feet. She is responsible for our soon to be unveiled mascot program and she's also looking after coordinating the Torch Relay Program and community outreach.

Originally from New Brunswick, Chantal enjoys spending her free time exploring the many beautiful and culturally diverse areas of Nova Scotia. Her favourite thing to do on a Saturday morning is go to the Halifax market to do some shopping and indulge in a freshly-baked cinnamon bun from Mary's Bread Basket. She is a self-proclaimed outgoing person and believes that you should "do one thing every day that scares you". Sounds like she's in the right place!
