Volunteer Profile

Geneviève Latour
External Communications Manager
Canada Post

Why did you want to get involved in the games?
It is a great way to meet new people and a fantastic learning experience. I am proud to contribute to an event that will directly benefit our beautiful city of Halifax and its people.

What do you do when you are not volunteering for the games?
I am the External Communications Manager for Canada Post, covering the Atlantic Region. I manage media relations, donations and sponsorships, stamp unveilings and any other public events. I also run half-marathons, play piano and enjoy wine tastings.

What will you bring?
I will bring my enthusiasm, rigour and francophone culture. I will bring semi-sweet Godiva hot chocolate everywhere, my camera and my abundant smiles.

Staff Profile

Joe Morissette
Manager of Logistics

Who's who?
The Games wouldn't happen without our volunteers, and here to assist those awesome individuals are some equally awesome staff.  Each edition will highlight a different Host Society staff member.

Joe Morissette
Joe has been an excellent addition to the Canada Games team as our Manager of Logistics. Joe came to us in April from Canadian Interuniversity Sport where he worked very hard to raise the profile of University Sports for young athletes. Along with his outgoing personality and great sense of humour, Joe brings with him a passion for sports and plenty of love and respect for all aspects of the Canada Games.

In his role as Manager of Logistics, Joe works closely with all the divisions. He sees himself as a conductor; pulling all the logistical detail together so Halifax can put on a great event for all involved!

Halifax is a new city for Joe, as he recently moved here from Ottawa. So far he has been enjoying the move by taking in all the lovely tourist sites in and around Halifax. If you see him around town, give him a wave or if necessary point him in the right direction!
